Capt. James Tulk is a long time customer of Sailor’s Exchange and Captain of the Red Boat Tours of St. Augustine. Like everyone with an older inflatable, Capt. James asked Darcy at Sailors Exchange how to repair his inflatable boat. He experimented with all the normal repairs for inflatables, but nothing would work to his satisfaction. His inflatable was the first testimonial boat that we repaired with InFlataSaver. Upon initial inspection there is no wonder why he was having so many problems. He had valves and old patches that were leaking horribly, the port aft chamber had almost two feet of de-laminated seam and someone had poured epoxy resin inside the boat previously to stop the boat from leaking. It didn’t work! The InFlataSaver system totally revitalized this boat and one more boat saved from the landfill. With five months of use, he has had no more leaks or punctures, and if InFlataSaver can extend the life of this inflatable boat, think of what it will do for yours.

“InFlataSaver saved my love-hate relationship with my ab rib! Frustrated, exhausted from hunting down tiny leaks and constantly refilling my dingy with air. I was ready to toss her for dead!

Ran into the one of the trusted boat guys I met in St Augustine, he suggested trying to give it a new life with new tubes on the inside. Wow! Why not?

Long story short, they very quickly put in, insanely durable, plastic tubes with new valves. My old rib still looks the same, but… it stays full! It goes up and down a bit with the outside temperature. It’s been 3 months haven’t touched the pump once! I hated the time wasted on pumping, and this product is amazing!”

We learned of Capt. Chris’s plight through one of the owners of Sailor’s Exchange. He had a severely leaking aft starboard chamber which made the tow boat unusable. Even though this initial InFlataSaver system was designed for smaller recreational type inflatable boats, we could not pass up the challenge to install InFlataSaver in a commercial boat that pushes this design to it’s limits. The boat in question is a 24 foot military type inflatable boat with twin 150hp outboards that push this boat to 45 mph+. Not to mention that the inflatable tubes are much bigger(22 inch diameter) than the typical inflatable tender (16-18 inch diameter) we designed this initial product for. There was always the goal of designing a larger and more robust commercial and military InFlataSaver system to repair these type of larger boats, but in this application we had to over inflate the inner tubes which further proves how effective the air holding ability and durability are in a typical situation. Immediately after this initial install this Sea Tow boat was used to run over 250 miles during calls for help and towing the following weekend. This everyday test in extreme environmental conditions shows how InFlataSaver will do in your typically sized inflatable boat tender.
